At our recent Black and White print competition there were 37 entries of a very good standard which gave the judge, John Tilsley, a very difficult Job. He managed it though so congratulations to David White who came out with the winner Rugby Grungy Front Row and also second place with Contemplating Punk.

On Monday October 21st we had an experimental practical evening. members were asked to bring suitable items and support material to use for Table Top Photography. Hopefully this would give people the chance to sort out composition, lighting and appropriate camera settings. The feedback was very positive and we await to see what results were achieved. Members also benefited from being able to work together, mix and mingle with positive interaction.

At the AGM on 20th May we fortunately had candidates come forward for all posts that were becoming vacant so voting in a new comittee was a very straight forward process. Thanks were offered to the members of the old committee who were standing down for their service over the (in most cases many) years. The AGM was followed by the annual awards ceremony and finally a general chat over drinks and nibbles.

League awards were presented to:-

David White - for his clean sweep of winning Print league, PDI League and Photographer of the year.

Jean Maitland - Photographer of the year runner up
Mike Grigsby - Print League runner up
Christine Dixon - PDI League runner up

Individual trophies

PDI five on a theme - Linda Watkins
Print five on a theme - Alan Brown
PDI of the year - Louise McKenna
Print of the year - Neil Davidson
Black & White Trophy - Martin Fleming
Progress cup - Martin Fleming
Services to the club - Paul Thackeray

It is with sadness that I have to report the passing away of Ron Holmes, one of the longest serving members of the club, at the age of 95. Ron was a past Chairman of the club and also judged competitions. He always had a cheery disposition and was helpful and encouraging to all members of the club, as well as having a great sense of humour. Goodbye Ron, you will be missed.😥
