DURDLE DOOR
Sunday 11th April was the first time I had been back out with the camera since August 2020 (for another milky way shot...yet to be posted) so the first trip back out had to be to none other than the spectical of Durdle Door.
I'd been watching the weather forecast for a few days leading up to Sunday. Then the day came and I almost blew it off, due to 1) I hadn't been out with the camera for so long an sense of anxiety and doubt had kicked in 2) it was freezing cold and I wasn't feeling 100% 3) could I really be bothered?
I'm so glad I kicked all of that doubt away and did it, it felt amazing to be back out with the camera and capture something truely amazing.
The light trail on the left of the picture is that of a person navigating the steps down to the beach, up until that point the beach was mine.
The glow in the distance, to the right of the image can easily be mistaken for a sunrise but this is actually light pollution coming from northern France (70 miles away).
This image is made up of 7 frames for the sky tracked at 3 minutes 30 seconds and then stacked to reduce noise at iso 1600 Shot at 24mm f4 and then a seperate 3:30 frame for the foreground, blended to create this image.
