Spider Farm 🕷️🧑‍🌾

This place was in the vicinity of another well known location of which I am still yet to do despite it being the first place I ever added to my exploring list - on the way back from another day of exploring I decided that it was time to check this one out - it was easy enough to get inside but the spiders investing the place made you very quickly want to turn around again and leave 😂🕸️

The living room had been stacked with empty crates - other than that and the odd few pieces of junk, the place was empty and awaiting to be reinvigored... Hopefully one day back into a thriving farm 🏡

Wye College 🌾🎓

Sadly this explore was unsuccessful however the grounds and buildings made for some apocalyptic photos - I want to explore the laboratories in this building for some years but every time I've attempted it, it has either been sealed or smothered in security! 👮🚨

These college grounds have some significant history dating back over 500yrs! Story starts back in the medieval period when it was founded in 1447 under the name: " College of St Gregory and St Martin". 😳

The college was later dissolved by Henry VIII during the 16th Entury Reformation and reopened as a grammar school 🏫

The buildings were purchased in 1894 and turned into the South Eastern Agricultural College and briefly after, in 1900, it became the School of Agriculture of the University of London 🪴

The college gained Royal Charter in 1948 after amalgamating with Swanley College of Horticulture, and was reknown for its agricultural research, particularly in relation to the brewing industry - disease resistant Hop variants were pioneered here for making beer 🍻

In 2000, it merged with Imperial College London and became its "Wye Campus", before finally closing its doors in 2009 after it was deemed to no longer be a financially viable site 😢 💷

It feels a shame to leave a campus with such rich history to decay like this, especially noting its importance in British Agricultural history 🌾🧑‍🌾🇬🇧

The Car & Junk Hovel 🚙📦🌿

This was by far, one of the strangest explores I've ever done - there is not much to be said on the history of the place - at least not that is known... 🤔

It was clear that whoever possessed this plot of land certainly liked their cars once upon a time and was also an immense hoarder... 📦

Never throwing anything away and instead using the household rubbish - from which address that was not clear - to create tunnel networks around and through the heavily overgrown land, surrounded by rotting vehicles buried in bushes! 🤯🚙🗑️🌿

I didn't risk proceeding to the end of some of these tunnels as the rubbish, including heavy pieces of furniture, metalwork and even vehicle components were stacked high above headheight - albeit that that was accounting for having to crouch down to pass through these tunnels... I didn't fancy getting crushed by an avalanche! 😬💀
