I'm nearing the end of my Edinburgh photos! It's been a chaotic couple of weeks and posting has taken a backseat.

I've set up a new website - still a work in progress, but it's a major improvement! Between family shoots, product work, and spec shoots, my free time has disappeared.

Currently Prepping for a wedding shoot this weekend, but I'll try to post more than I did last week!

These are the things they don't tell you when starting / running a solo business 😂. Wearing many hats is an understatement - it takes a lot of effort! 😂

Could’ve made a 10-minute pasta.

Made this instead — because apparently I enjoy stirring rice and rethinking life.

Also: risotto might be the only dish where “mushroom sludge” still looks photogenic.

I love photographing authentic food, actually edible and plated food, if you’re a business looking to elevate your food photos for menus or social posts get in touch, no glycerin or shaving foam will be used. If you’d present your food I can photograph it!

Done properly, it’s one of the easiest and most flavour-packed pasta dishes around. Agree?

📸 I love styled food photography especially when shooting in cafés or restaurants but home-cooked meals come with their own challenges…

Like:
• Finding plates that match the vibe of the dish 🍽️
• Realising you’ve used all your nice props to cook the actual meal 🙃
• Buying random one-off bits of crockery just to get “the shot” (I’ve got a cupboard of solo bowls and mugs at this point 😅)

This shoot is part of a personal food styling side project I’m quietly working on… more details coming soon 👀

Part 7: Dean Village Edinburgh, one of the prettiest little areas I think I’ve seen in any city! Do you agree?
Stunning architecture and a lovely river running right through. A wonderful escape from the busy main areas like the royal mile etc..
the buildings are what drew me here for sure.

Part 6: the road trip took me in to the center of Edinburgh for a day so what better place to start than absolutely amazing to see and I have to say Edinburgh might well be up there in my favourite cities visited to date!
From the people to the architecture it’s well worth a visit and I will definitely be going back soon

Breaking up the travel and landscape photos a little with a little taste ( pun intended ) of some good work I’m doing currently.
I like shooting lifestyle, brand and still life as much as I do landscapes and street work and have always hated the thought of niching down to only doing one thing.
So here is a pasta dish made, plated and shot by me. Working on a project around this at the moment so it’s good practice even if it doesn’t become a used image.

All ingredients are from as is the Bowl I used.
