What Is Branding? When Should You Update It? Logo Evolution and The Process Involved With Working With A Design Agency.

These are some of the things I spoke about with Peter Howard at PHd design. Recently Peter's team have looked at the branding and Logo for Mr Ladd Media as I felt a change was needed. I have been very happy with what the creative team have done and the process involved to get a new fresh brand.

When someone looks at your business can they tell what you do? 🧐

I had the chance to document a sign writer last year who did some work for a friend of mine that owns a cafe in Bearwood. Located near a busy road the business owner wanted to spell out exactly what he did so from a distance you can tell the products they offer.

If people cannot see what you do or offer then you might be missing out on potential customers or referrals. Make it as easy as possible to show customers what you do.

Now we have a Road Map set out, I am looking forward to venues opening back up in Birmingham. I recently had the chance to work with EAST VILLAGE. on a new venue that will open up. The Rolling Mill JQ is a brand new bar & restaurant set to open in the middle of 2021 in the heart of Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter.

The new venue - spanning over 7,000 sq ft - will be located at the junction of Warstone Lane and Water Street. It will feature a covered courtyard, a heated mezzanine rooftop, two bars, and a private internal terrace. This should be a great addition to the JQ area and I cannot wait to photograph events here in there future.

From last nights road map out of lockdown we learnt that from the 29th of March 2021 the following sporting actives be allowed:

▪️Outdoor Sport & Leisure Facilities
▪️Outdoor sport allowed for Adults & Children

This is will hopefully lead onto indoor activities being introduced in April if the level of admissions does not rise.

Here are some photos I took for Birmingham Law Society - Five-A-Side Football Tournament back in September 2018, when sporting events were possible. I look forward to covering live events again once lockdown rules start to be lifted.

These are a few profile headshots I did for Woodshires to use on their new website. Its been good to work with Stu Wood and his team over the years as I see them at a lot of the Networking Events, Award Evenings and BNI meetings. I have built up a good relationship with them and they are a fun and exciting team to work with.

I look forward to seeing the Woodshires Team more when we come out of lockdown so I can capture them at all the fantastic events we have in Birmingham.

I was asked recently to capture a few photos by TLC Platforms Limited of some amazing artwork being created by the artist GENT 48 in Digbeth.

I met Alex Latham and Paul Latham from TLC PLATFORMS LIMITED last year at the Art4Charity - project. I have since been working closely with them to capture and create content to document everything they do, who they work with and the equipment and brands they use like the Snorkel S3370RT Scissor Lift. Its been a lot of fun photographing different things like this.

If you run a business that offers services to its clients instead of products it can sometimes be challenging to think about what to photograph.

One idea is just take a photo of someone using your website. You can then talk about your services in the post.

NEW YEAR! NEW LOGO NEEDED 💡

Now we are in 2021 I am looking at goals for my business. One thing I want to do this year is change my logo and update it. I have had this logo since I started my business in 2015 and I created it in 5mins as I needed to get some business cards printed for an event and I didn't have a logo so I threw this together.

I feel I have outgrown this design and would like something simple that looks good on a clothing as well as watermarked on images.

I have decided to choose Peter Howard and his company PHd design to rebrand my logo as everything they do is amazing. I am a huge fan of the work they do which is eye catching, modern and simple and thats what I like, as thats what I am all about. I can not wait to see what Peter's team will create for Mr Ladd Media and I will be sharing it on here to stay tuned for future updates.

On Sunday I managed to capture these photos of a really friendly Squirrel in St Paul's Square in Jewellery Quarter, Birmingham. This is the first time I have managed to get so close to a Squirrel without it running up a tree.
