There was a time in my photography journey when I believed that the perfect portrait meant everyone looking at the camera, perfectly posed, perfectly still.
Then I became their mum.
And they changed everything.
They taught me that childhood is not about perfection. It is about connection. Tiny conversations only siblings understand. Curious little glances. Wind in their hair. Laughter that cannot be directed. Moments that last only seconds but stay in your heart forever.
This image is everything I have learned over the years.
No one is looking into my lens.
No one is asked to smile.
They are simply together, completely lost in their own little world.
That is where the magic lives.
Winning 1st Place in the Legacy Photography Awards – Outdoor Child Portrait Category with this photograph means more to me than any trophy ever could, because it celebrates the vision I once doubted. The vision that tells me the most beautiful photographs are not created by perfect posing, but by genuine emotion, trust, and stories that unfold naturally.
As a photographer, I captured this moment.
As a mum, I understood it.
And perhaps that is why it feels so special.
Thank you, , for seeing the beauty in a story rather than a pose. 🤍
