Always a pleasure to see an L-29 Delfin, or "Maya" if you prefer, in the air. They aren't all that common in Europe anymore sadly but there are quite a few in the US, like this one taken as during its landing roll at EAA Airventure 2022.

A very rare helicopter in Europe is that of the Czech Air Force Bell UH-1Y Venom. These have only been introduced into Czech service fairly recently & have been bought to replace the Mi-171. This was seen at NATO days last year performing a role demo.

Another RAF aircraft I miss seeing is the Sentinel R1, sadly retired now but I always enjoyed seeing them. Even if it's just a bizjet with some lumps on it. This was photographed at its home base at RAF Waddington back in 2020 in some questionable weather.

An aircraft we don't see enough of anymore in my opinion is the Gloster Meteor. This particular Meteor is an T7 example displaying at the Cosford Air Show back in 2012.

Maybe not the most eye catching aircraft ever made but it does tick the rarity box. This Ilyushin Il-114 actually first flew back in the early 90s with only 22 been built & is apparently going back into serial production in Russia this year. This was seen displaying at MAKS back in 2015

One of the many reasons to go to Poland is to see these MiG-15s flying around, albeit these are Polish made PZL-Mielec SBLim-2 & Lim-2 aircraft specifically. This was taken during one of the arrival days for the Radom show in 2023.

Apologies for the lack of posts recently, I do have good reasons, honest.

Anyway, during a visit to NAS Key West back in 2016 we caught this lovely P-3C from VP-62 based at NAS Jacksonville circuit bashing there. Sadly they were on the wrong runway for the sun

A helicopter display I always enjoyed was that of the Westland Lynx, either Army or Navy it was good. This particular example is an HMA8 version from the Royal Navy displaying at the Cosford air show in 2014.

An aircraft I did not expect to see at the CIAF show back in 2017 was this Curtiss JN-4 Jenny replica. It flew a very nice set piece with some WW1 actors & A Fokker DR1, a strange end to a show for sure, but enjoyable.
