I received another message like this the other day … And it’s something I’ve never really spoken about before.
Everyone talks about how they feel before a photoshoot.
Almost nobody talks about how they feel afterwards.
The messages that mean the most to me aren’t about my editing style or my camera.
They’re the ones that say, “I actually enjoyed having my photograph taken.”
Because if you leave your session feeling more confident than when you arrived, I’ve done far more than just take your picture.
Beautiful photographs will always be my goal, but I’ve realised over the years that the way you feel whilst creating them is just as important. Knowing that someone who arrived convinced they were awkward or unphotogenic left saying they actually enjoyed the experience… that’s the part of this job that means the most to me.
Anyone can take a beautiful photograph.
But making someone genuinely enjoy being in front of the camera? That’s something I’ll never stop striving for.
And if that’s what my couples remember years from now, then I know I’ve done my job.
Thank you Ellie Ryder for allowing me to share this beautiful message 🥹🖤
