Sad to read about the passing of Blondie’s drummer Clem Burke.
My thoughts are with his family, friends and band members especially Debbie Harry.
Right from the start of Blondie’s chart topping career Clem made the sound, I love his drumming in Union City Blue surely giving the band that American punk sound.
He also played drums with The Ramones for a short time under the name Elvis Ramone. Clem is one of the founding members of Blondie and appeared on all their albums.
When Blondie disbanded for a short while Clem played with artists such as Pete Townsend, Bob Dylan and The Eurythmics

Finally finished this book this morning
Bruce sure hasn’t been one for sitting down and taking what’s given to him.
At every stage of his life his always studied to do something else, better himself
It sort of explains why Iron Maiden are so theatrical in concert
As in colleague he studied and became in charge of the theatres
When in bands he studied fencing, practice, took lessons and got to fighting in tournaments throughout Europe
If that’s not enough he g**k up flying to earn the title if Captain and flew passengers for even British Airways
His one clever guy with great sense of humour
From flying small six seaters to a 747 he always asked

What an amazing read I finished cover to cover in days as couldn’t put it down
It not only tells their story but takes you on a interesting history of music through the decades as they take of the artists they met worked with and even done backing on other artists albums
Their love for all genres of music is very clear Tom living with the s*x pistols to going on holiday with George Michael to even knowing Lemmy from Motörhead
What a career they’ve had

All those years ago I reviewed his first album and EP never knowing so many albums later we become good friends and his music has never disappointed
