September 2022

This month I was back at Wern Ddu PCA again and as you can probably see it was a dusty one! 🛞💨
Also we went to Talacre lighthouse for the first time too. Unfortunately the sunset didn’t turn out quite how I’d have liked, but I still got a few okay shots.

August 2022

In August I went to for the Dave Read memorial rally event. I did my best but had difficulty always being on the outside of corners and so high up and far away from the track as I only had spectator access. I also had difficulty editing the images that were shot in such harsh sunlight but I think I managed to massage a look out of the raws that I’m happy with.

YEAR RECAP
July 2022

In July I attended Gravity to shoot a video of the event which is available to watch now. I can never resist taking a photos from the good angles I find whilst filming.
This was my second year at Gravity and it was way too busy for me this time, making my shots take more time with so many people around. Always some amazing cars on show there though and I love the shots I get.
Later in the month I attended Tunerfest at where I also filmed a video but I still haven’t finished it yet, there are a few photos I’ve finished though, from panel 7 to 10. That NSX stole the show for me and I managed to get some nice track shots whilst there too. 👍🏻

YEAR RECAP
June 2022

I had a busy month in June. My brother bought an Audi TT in quite clean condition so we went for a drive and a photoshoot with my 330ci. The full set can be found further back in my uploads.
Then I went to a couple of smaller local car shows, which made a nice change of pace from the huge events like Gravity or Fitted that I usually do, which can be hectic and overwhelming. There were some awesome cars in great condition at both Mavericks’ and Deeside Roundtable’s shows.
Then towards the end of the month I attended my first full day shooting at Wern Ddu PCA, where I put a lot of info I’d learned about shooting motorsport online, into action.

Year Recap
May 2022

In May, I travelled to Llanbedr Airfield for a Staightliners dragstrip event. I went to video the day but took a few cool photos whilst there.
Later in the month I happened across a locally held rally event held by WDMC which I only just caught the end of, but I was then asked to return for the following event and I’ve since attended a total of 4 times, plus I’m now working in conjunction with the organisers supplying photography for the events in 2023. This month really seemed to be the kickstart to my motorsport photography.

April 2022

This month I attended a local car meet and drive out held by where I was focused on putting together a video for the meet but also snapped a few shots here and there. The video is available to view on the video website that shall not be named due to the algorithm.
April is lamb season too so we are treated to the sights and sounds of them in the fields around my house, which is always nice 🐑
Finally my band played a gig in Manchester where I thought I’d have a go at some live gig photography. I captured playing their set where they visibly gave it their all!

March 2022

In March I was invited back by my relative .events to shoot a night club event she had organised. This was the second time as I had attended one previously for her in 2021. This time I had a bit of experience under my belt with using a flash in low light conditions. It’s an extremely difficult environment to shoot in, from the lack of good light to the chaos of weaving across a packed dance floor, this is certainly an event that I’ll remember.
The event was held at .mcr paired with an amazing fire performance put on by .

Later in the month I was asked to do a branding shoot for my other half’s business .realm where I attempted to embody the essence of the businesses’ aesthetic into the style of the photography and editing.
Oh and we also made a very good looking meal which I just had to capture!

February 2022

Looking back on February I couldn’t find much variety, it seems I stayed home most of the month 😂
As can be seen by the time we spent with our two little lunatics. They really enjoy the snow, but equally enjoy cozying up.
I used my speedlight for fill flash often this month as it was something I knew I had to incorporate to improve certain lighting conditions, especially with the smaller sensor my current camera has.

YEAR RECAP
January 2022

To start this year off I’m going to recap my creative work throughout 2022. Each month will be represented by a post showing some of my favourite images I captured in that month.

In January we were treated to frosty weather, which especially when paired with fog and golden hour, makes for incredible photography conditions.
I love the epic looking backlit shots on our dog walk in the forest, paired with the sun shooting through the fog.
The frost adds a clean and calming aesthetic to the landscape, which can be seen in the 5th to 7th panel.
Finally I spent a bit of time trying to catch a good image of the birds just out my back door, however this was a lot more challenging than I expected, mostly due to setting focus correctly on such small and sporadic creatures.
