Today is World Parkinson’s Day and tomorrow I’ll be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon for the wonderful charity that is Parkinson’s UK.
Through the incredible generosity of friends, family and a few strangers I’m within touching distance of raising £1,500. That is waaaaay beyond my wildest dreams. Thank you so much to all who have donated.
I’m now unpacked, ready and resting up in the RAF Club, fortunately just a short jog to the start line. A large carb-packed Italian is planned before an early night!
I’ll share proof that I did actually complete the race tomorrow but I thought today was an appropriate time to share a quick post to see if I can get my fundraising across the £1,500 line.
This is my first ever organised run and I know from the training that it’s going to hurt. That said, it’s a privilege to be able to run and I’ll be thinking of my late dad and my friends who I know are fighting their own battles with this horrible disease.
