What a way to end 3 years!

At the closing night of the YSJ graduate exhibition 2022, I received the Next Generation Award for my series ‘Queer’. I can’t even explain how grateful and proud I am of this achievement. I have put my heart and soul into this degree and my adoration and obsession with the subject has grown even more along the way, it’s just incredible to have that acknowledged by such an amazing and established magazine.

I wouldn’t have been able to do it without my favourite people by my side. My family, the girls on my course, my tutors, my best friends and my boyfriend who ended up literally front and centre.

To finish it all off, I will be graduating with a first class honours and I’m just speechless and over the moon with what I have achieved. This just proves I should be confident in myself and my abilities and that my determination and passion pays off.

A throwback of seasons to the commission Foss Bank Hospital, a mental health practice in York, proposed to York St John Photography BA (Hons) students.

Earlier this academic year, Foss Bank Hospital decorated their corridors with an exhibition of autumn. Bringing colour and life into their wards for visitors and patients. I focused on York’s surroundings, providing familiarity for those seeking comfort.

Next week welcomes my degree exhibition!

Myself and the rest of the YSJ art students have poured blood, sweat and (a lot of) tears into showcasing the work that brings our degree to a close :( it’s an incredibly bittersweet feeling but I am genuinely proud of what I have produced 🤍

Long time no see!

This page has been quite literally abandoned for a while now. The past months of me avoiding this page purely out of being so overwhelmed with juggling life and figuring out who I am as an artist and my place in the world, have resulted in deciding to start this portion of it all from scratch.

I’ve met and spoke to some amazing people and things are beginning to fall into place. As the end of uni approaches (wtf?!?!) I am content with where I am in the world of art and what I want to make of it and am excited to transform this page into such.

To begin, here’s some images of something I find myself consistently in awe of - an old mans face. Enjoy!
