Well its now 2025 and Im sure we should be living on Mars by now and driving flying cars… hmm

I’ve started this year as I mean to go on: by getting out more and taking photographs purely for the love of it. Not that I don’t love photographing for clients (I do, honest!). But after losing – and thankfully rediscovering – my mojo last year, I’m determined to hit the ground running in 2025. And that’s exactly how it’s started!

A huge thanks to my good friend and fellow photographer Dave Mead for dragging me into the icy cold (twice!) to chase incredible icicle formations up at the top end of Farndale. And another big shoutout to the equally talented Rich Smith, who lured me into a misty, atmospheric wood at the very bottom end of the dale. From sparkling icicles to moody fog, it's been a stunning start to the year — I wonder what the spaces in between will hold for me.

This year, I've got some exciting projects in the works, all at various stages of planning. Some may work out and undoubtedly some won’t, more on these to come…! For now, here are a few of my favourite shots from January so far.

Rural Life. Ive just been clearing some space. and stumbled on a folder full of local gems. I have had the pleasure of living and working in the middle of the North York Moors for the last 16/17 years and this is a small selection of the images I have made in that time. A book will be made one day.

Thank you!

After last weekends storm, the repairs were under way in earnest to get power up and running all over The North York Moors.

Our electricity was off for only around 24 hours and the tree blocking our road to the outside world was cleared within 12 hours. Some had to manage without power for much longer, we were lucky.

I would like to thank all the people who worked, and in some cases are still working, to clear up the mess and get us all back to normal.

Mojo Rising

Hello, it’s been a while since I last shared any of my photography, life’s been a bit of a whirlwind. Between other commitments and business ventures taking the wheel for a while, I found myself drifting away from photography.

To be honest, I felt like I’d lost my passion for it.

But, thanks to another love of mine—music—I’ve found my way back. I’ve been creating some short, fun videos to go along with my music on YouTube, and it’s pulled me right back into the world of cinematography and photography. I’ve spent time studying the work of some seriously talented photographers and cinematographers, I even dusted off some of my video gear: mics, lenses, drone, stabiliser, I have found my mojo.

I’m now feeling that creative itch again, and it’s manifesting in a new level of creativity. It’s making me rethink my creative decisions, challenging how I approach my work. I’m seeing it come through in both my latest client work and my personal projects, and I 'm eager tp push some boundaries.
