Halfway through the group photos, Katie had the most beautiful surprise – her horse was led around to see her. Such a thoughtful and personal touch! Of course, we paused everything to capture some truly special moments of Katie with her horse. These are the kinds of memories that make a wedding day completely unique, and I always make sure we have the time and space to photograph them naturally and beautifully.

Once we’d finished the group portraits (and the gorgeous horse photos!), we moved straight into the confetti moment. With the ceremony chairs cleared away, the garden created the perfect backdrop – light, open, and full of atmosphere.

I always recommend creating a confetti tunnel. It not only looks incredible in photos, but it also gives us the best chance to capture those joyful, laughter-filled reactions as you walk through. A tunnel keeps the confetti flowing for longer, surrounds you with colour and movement, and means I can photograph a whole sequence of natural, candid moments – not just a single shot.

It’s all about making sure every part of your day feels relaxed, fun, and beautifully documented – including the little surprises you’ll remember forever.

Katie and Dan were married in the beautiful garden at Deighton Lodge, with perfect weather creating the perfect setting for their outdoor ceremony. The natural surroundings and open space provided a stunning backdrop as they exchanged their vows in front of family and friends.

They chose a photography package that included two photographers, which makes a real difference during the ceremony. While I was positioned at the front capturing Katie’s walk down the aisle and the key moments as the ceremony unfolded, my assistant photographer was at the back documenting her entrance and the wider scene from a different perspective.

Having two photographers ensures full coverage from multiple angles, so nothing is missed — from the aisle walk to the ceremony details and guests’ reactions. It allows us to tell the complete story of your day in a relaxed and unobtrusive way, so you can simply enjoy every moment knowing it’s all being beautifully captured.

Katie and Dan chose to say their vows outdoors in the beautiful garden at Deighton Lodge — a setting that couldn’t have been more perfect for a romantic, heartfelt ceremony.
While Katie met with the registrars before walking down the aisle, Dan’s best man was carefully adding the finishing touches — straightening ties, calming nerves, double-checking the rings were safely in place, and welcoming guests as they took their seats. Every meaningful glance, every reassuring smile, every tiny detail was part of the story.
