One thing that has truly fascinated me in Tamale is seeing how normal motorbike riding is for women here. Almost every woman seems to own or ride a motorbike, and they ride with so much confidence, strength, and fearlessness.
You’ll see women riding through town with babies strapped at their backs, carrying goods to the market, transporting family members, and somehow balancing what looks impossible — sometimes an adult and several children on one motorbike — yet they handle it with such skill and calmness.
It’s more than transportation. It’s resilience. It’s survival. It’s strength.
The women of Northern Ghana are powerful, hardworking, and incredibly determined. Watching them move through daily life reminds you how strong African women truly are. These are the kind of everyday stories the world deserves to see more of.
Tamale has given me a new level of respect for women, especially the women of the North. ❤️🏍️🇬🇭
