NOT THE MICHAEL I EXPECTED.

When I first heard of the film, I applauded the whoever and the team who have sat to come up with this biopic and already gave it 5 stars in my mind. I thought the film would capture the personal life of the King of Pop that we never saw on screen or experienced on the stage. MJ's journey on this planet is very historic and deserved an in-depth representation in this biopic.

I was so gingered and eager to zoom in to the Michael I haven't experienced on stage but surprisingly that is the same person I watched in the film. Just a little of his personal story was told in the film.

MJ's songs are his experiences and subjectivity of the world. I expected to have the biopic communicate the lived experiences that influenced his lyrics. I really wanted to know how he maneuvered his way through life amidst all the fabricated stories against him.

Personally, I see this film to be a duplication of his music videos and stage performances in a compilation. However, I commend the team for a great work done for being accurate on the production design and his voice most especially. Jaafar actually nailed it in every scene.

I still believe there must be a continuation from where the film ended, I hope to see MICHAEL 2 some day.

A CALL TO AFRICANISM.

When will the minds of Africans awake to consciousness of itself? So in 21st century where knowledge has flooded without boundaries we still live with the illusion that everything western is the best? Aww, what a great foundation the white has established from ages to delude Africa in our thinking.

Gone are the days our forefathers were to blame for trading our rich culture and holistic spiritual traditions for religion and politics which have become the cankaworms to our present day progress. We are in the days everything proves the whole world thrives on Africa, let us free ourselves from mental slavery and recognize ourselves as great as we are. Let us LOVE, HONOR and CHERISH ourselves as a people, Africans!

Why would we be so blind in thoughts to DISRESPECT, HATE and RIDICULE the most beautiful and enviable culture given to us by nature?

Zambians, you must be ashamed of yourself for ridiculing the culturally motivated attire worn by PREZ. JOHN DRAMANI MAHAMA, the President of the Republic of Ghana during his visit to your country. Why would you call this a blouse? Your President adorned himself in a suit and you regard it as civilized, what a pity. Do we claim free from the western when we cannot pride ourselves in our locally made garments? The attire you mocked at is called FUGU (SMOCK) or BATAKARI, a pride adornment of the people of the Northern parts of Ghana. It is actually an outfit that shows the regalia of chiefs of the Northern parts of Ghana. If you had loved yourselves as Africans you would search into the representation of the outfit rather than mocking.

Africans, let us awake from our sleep and fight for the generations coming after us, we are losing our sense of Africanism. It is okay to learn and adopt other cultures but totally ignoring our own is a great disservice to ourselves and our unborn generations.

I had the opportunity to attend the launch of the 3 days film festival by the Regal Film Festival and Awards held at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel- Accra, Ghana, scheduled for 10th-12th December, 2025.
Though it wasn't a self-willed movement I made, thanks to my lecturer Mad. Magdalene Kwashie who insisted all her students be present for the experience. In fact, my attendance was never a waste of time at all, the event is one that I will say is an inspiration to young filmmakers who dare to make a mark in Africa and beyond. The film screening was that aspect of the day's events everyone loved.
3 COLD DISHES, what a film that require your spectacles! You'll love it. The film follows the story of 3 young women who were trafficked during their teen ages for prostitution, 17 years down the line, these women planned meticulously against their traffickers whom they took revenge on and murdered in cold blood.
The film explores themes of survival, empowerment, and justice, showcasing the women's journey from victims to powerful players in their world.

The solution is never a ban, it is putting in place measures that make sure the lead that poses health risk is done away during the production process so as to still keep the local businesses active for economic growth. Banning will only collapse these few businesses which are the only survival means of some families and gradually promote foreign products only for the selfish gain of greedy leaders making ways for foreign companies to be established in Ghana.

Anything locally produced is tagged 'improper', killing the trust a black man has for his fellow. Why do we re**rd our own progress? Oh African!

Gone are the days our foods were served and packaged so neatly in different kinds of leaves for consumption, these leaves aside serving as packages, preserved the foods and had health benefits but the whiteman brainwashed all of us claiming they weren't healthy and thus introduced to us rubber and other plastic packages which we gladly accepted without any research of our own, only God knows how many billions of dollars they have made from Africa through this introduction of plastic materials. Africans, let us reason as a people and be united!

The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has called for an immediate ban on locally made cooking pots known as “Dadesen” after detecting dangerous levels of lead in their production. Eastern Regional FDA Manager, Mrs. Anita Owusu-Kuffour, warned that the contamination poses serious health risks, including cancer and kidney damage. She explained that some manufacturers add lead to soften the metal during moulding, making the pots unsafe for cooking.
