Today, April 23, 2026, we celebrate International Girls in ICT Day under the theme: “AI for Development: Girls Shaping the Digital Future.”
At Buta Visual Agency, we highlight the urgent need to bridge the digital gap for girls in Northern Ghana, where inequalities in access still exist. Encouragingly, ongoing efforts by the Minister for Education are helping expand opportunities and access to ICT for these girls.
The future is digital and every girl deserves to be part of it.

Documenting the Presidency: How Visual Storytellers Preserve Moments of Power and History

Today, I had the privilege of once again photographing the President, a responsibility that continues to shape my understanding of leadership through the lens. My journey in presidential coverage dates back to my early days with the Ghanaian Times, when I was first given the opportunity to photograph him during his tenure as Vice President at the Osu Castle.
Before then, I photographed the Late Prof. John Evans Atta Mills, and other several presidents at my almost 20 years profession.

Presidential photographers and videographers operate in a fast-paced and unpredictable environment. It is a field that demands sharp instinct, speed, and constant awareness. One cannot succeed as a presidential photographer without the ability to think quickly, anticipate movement, and respond to unfolding moments in real time.
