Mohammed Ismail Sherif Kwaku Frimpong (born 9 January 2002) known professionally as Black Sherif is a Ghanaian musician and performer from Konongo. Black Sherif was born and raised in Konongo in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. He completed Kumasi Academy for his second cycle education and is currently a student of University of Professional Studies (UPSA). He started getting attention on social media when Ghanaian Comic Musician Ajeezay shared a video of him in July 2019, the video won the heart of many which made rapper Ponobiom invited him (Sherif) to record his first professional song. Later he dropped his single which was always on the lips of every Ghanaian, later AMG Armani n Tulenkey hopped on the remix.
He gained mainstream acclaim with his street anthem released in July 2021 few months after he dropped . caught the attention of Grammy Award winning act Burna Boy which led to the remix of the song.

His March 2022 single titled reached number 1 on the Ghanaian and Nigerian Apple Music charts. The song broke a lot of boundaries and sat on top of charts across the globe. The song has won the hearts of many worldwide celebs including DJ Khaled who posted about the song on both his Instagram and pages then later dropped a video of himself jamming to the song. He got 5 nominations during 3 Music Awards and bagged 4 plaques and also got 7 nominations during the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards 2022 which he won 2 awards.

On 11 April 2022, a lawsuit was filed against Black sheriff for alleged breach of contract. The lawsuit stems from allegations that Black Sherif ignored his investor after he invested in his career. Again, Black Sherif is said to have signed a distribution agreement with without his investor's permission, despite the fact that he allegedly had a business management contract with him. His investor, Shadrach Agyei Owusu, the CEO of Waynes Chavis Consult is seeking the court to restrict Black Sherif from performing at events without his authorization but he won the case against his investor. News circulating now is that the young chap is cooking either an EP or Album for his fans. He was recently spotted in a studio with Jamaican Dancehall act Popcaan.
