About last night...
My view from my balcony.
Also a little bit of information about what is the super moon that all the social speak about the past days.

A supermoon occurs when a full moon or a new moon coincides with the Moon's closest approach to Earth in its elliptical orbit, called perigee. This makes the Moon appear larger and brighter in the sky than usual. Supermoons can be up to 14% larger and 30% brighter compared to a regular full moon, creating a stunning visual spectacle for observers on Earth.

The 7th of March is a day of national pride and hope for the citizens of the Dodecanese Islands as it signifies their union with the modern Greek State. Me with some friends, we visited a coastal area and had a mini celebration for this day next to nature in an isolated place.
We visited a place located on the southern part of Kos, really close to Prophitis Zacharias chapell.
Amazing place and I would suggest you to visit it.

Just be aware that you will need a 4x4 vehicle because its mostly bad conditioned dirt road.

The Running Man Nebula, located in the Orion constellation. Also known as the NGC 1977, it's a reflection nebula which is composed from a combination of dust and gas, which scatter and reflect the light of nearby stars, creating a stunning visual display.

The Running Man Nebula is a site of active star formation, with young and hot stars embedded within its clouds. These newly formed stars emit intense ultraviolet radiation that excites the surrounding gas, causing it to glow and illuminate the surrounding area.

It is located approximately 1,500 light-years away from Earth. To give you an idea of the vast distance, let's imagine a top sprinter maintaining their top speed of around 40 kilometers per hour without any breaks. Assuming they can sustain this speed continuously, it would take them roughly 36 million years to reach the Running Man Nebula!!

Behold the Monkeyhead Nebula, a stellar sight,
Located in the constellation Orion, shining bright.
This emission nebula resides approximately 6,400 light-years away,
A vast cloud of gas and dust, where new stars sway.

Following my Instagram story, I present to you the amazing Wizard Nebula!
This stunning part of the nightsky was captured using special filters which allow very specific wavelengths of light to go through and reach the camera sensor.
By combining different channels, like hydrogen alpha, sulfur, and oxygen, we get to see the beautiful details and colors of this cosmic artwork.
The universe never stops to amaze us!

Today, I witnessed a rare weather phenomenon just before sunset – a sun halo!
With my drone, I captured a stunning image of the halo shining above the beautiful landscape of Zipari, with the small hill of Profitis Ilias in the background on the left side and on the right side the magnificent Salt lake in Tigaki.
The halo formed a perfect ring around the sun, creating a breathtaking display of light and color that was simply mesmerizing to watch.

For those who are not familiar with sun halos, they are a type of optical phenomenon that occurs when sunlight interacts with ice crystals in the atmosphere. The ice crystals bend and reflect the light, causing it to appear as a ring or halo around the sun. It's a rare and beautiful sight to behold.

I feel grateful to have been able to capture it with my drone camera :-)

Let me take you on a journey where we'll soar like birds in the sky, over a place where the sun sets in a breathtaking display of colors. As we fly high above, we'll witness a magical panorama that's truly awe-inspiring.

Look to your right, and you'll see the majestic Pserimos Island rising up from the sparkling blue sea, with the sky behind it awash with vibrant shades of orange and blue.
To the left, the charming Tigaki Village and the Dikaios Mountain will come into view, perfectly blending in with the stunning scenery. In the middle of it all, a peaceful slice of the Kos Salt Lake adds a touch of tranquility to the scene. As the sun slowly descends towards the horizon, the coastline of Marmari Village is illuminated by its warm, golden glow.

A truly unforgettable experience.

Hello, flamingos are already here! Located in the salt lake in Tigaki village. You can go there and watch them! And if you are lucky as well as not noisy, you will be able to see them in close distance!
Flamingos get easily scared from noises so be careful when you go not to loud noises!

This photo was shot through a telescope with approximate focal length 800mm and a Sony A7m3 camera.
