"Autumnal Hues, Twilight Blues"
We are in for a long, dark winter and it's really important for everyone to find those LOCAL places which make you simply smile. I've been biking around my neighborhood a lot lately and I have found a local treasure trove where fall seems much more like something farther up North.
This might be one of the finest autumns I've seen in the Lone Star State in quite some time. Although it's been windy and the leaves are falling off just as they change colour, you can see just how many different colors there were this year.
I intended for this image to be taken during blue hour, but having arrived at my location about a half hour early, I realized that the last rays of the sun on the trees in the background gave it a little something in the end. I had to do some minor gymnastics to set my tripod up in the middle of the creek without disturbing the gnarling roots and branches which are featured in my previous images at this location. I certainly didn't want to destroy my own favorite composition while I captured this one. And so no trees were harmed in the making of this picture .
