It has been a while since my last shooting. Winter left no windows to get out this year, but as the milky way season arrived, myself and got a chance to visit a favorite spot and capture some magic.
I find myself always trying to capture the same shot in this location every year and I am never satisfied 😁
This time it is a 3-shot vertorama, with a EOS R, a Art 40mm f1.4, and a NOMAD Star tracker.

I always ignored M31 as a target – everyone has shot it, didn’t see the appeal. 🤷‍♂️✨
Then I thought: screw it, I’ll try it once. 📸🔭

So, the other night, I framed it, captured the data, brought it home, stacked it and hit preview stretch… and then it hit me. 🤯
Instant goosebumps.

With an old mirrorless and a small scope, I ended up with a super crisp image of a Galaxy Far, Far Away: the Andromeda Galaxy. 🌌🚀💫

Literally a whole other world out there… with god-knows-how-many star systems and f**killions of planets. 💥🪐

Look up, frame it, bring it home

The Eternal Path

The Milky Way, our home, like a rainbow in the night with billions of solar systems forming a path that crosses the universe. A path constantly bombarded by cosmic rays and energy particles, from the beginning of time, till the end. An eternal path.

This is the last of a series of images I captured from my summer visit to the Island of Crete in Greece, with and a great team of photographers. I will soon be uploading full resolution revisions over at a revamped cap10pixel.com, as well as on a new Flickr account, so keep an eye out! 🤘
