Soft Lake Como light, delicate details, and the stillness of a morning slowly unfolding at Villa Bonomi.

A wedding is never only about the perfect setting. It is about the life that happens inside it.

Horatio & Cynthia’s Barcelona wedding moved from quiet anticipation to a celebration full of warmth — the groom getting ready, friends walking together under the afternoon sun, the castle in the background, glasses raised at dinner, family moments, and the dance floor slowly coming alive.

These are the photographs that often become more meaningful with time. Not only the portraits, not only the details, but the in-between moments that bring the whole day back — the laughter, the people, the movement, and the feeling of being there.

And honestly, I could not have asked for a more beautiful way to spend it.

From the ceremony to the speeches, from the quiet moments to the fireworks at night — Horatio & Cynthia’s wedding was one of those days that stayed with me after I put the camera down.

From Lake Como to Florence, London to Barcelona — some stories are too beautiful to tell in just one chapter.

Two weeks ago, we had the honour of photographing Cynthia and Horatio’s wedding at Castell de Sant Marçal, a castle venue just outside Barcelona with the kind of old-world elegance that feels made for a celebration like this.

The day was full of warm Spanish light, refined details, soft movement, and that effortless European wedding atmosphere I always love — romantic, intimate, and quietly grand.

This was actually our fourth time photographing Cynthia and Horatio, and every time with them has felt special. For this first post, I just want to share the mood of the day: the venue, the textures, the details, and the beginning of a very beautiful celebration in Barcelona.

Some weddings are beautiful because everything goes exactly as planned.

And some are unforgettable because nature decides to write its own version of the story.

For Fiona and Jason’s wedding at Hylla Lijiang, the rain stayed with us through the celebration. Soft skies, wet stone paths, quiet mountains, and that very special kind of light that only comes after the weather has changed every plan.

But between the rain, we found little windows.
Moments of calm.
Moments of light.
And eventually, a rainbow.

We have always loved Hylla, but this wedding reminded us why even more. It is a place that does not need perfect weather to feel quietly magical.

Five years in the making.

Laura & Grant came from London with a wedding they were meant to have long ago. Between Covid, a civil registration, and welcoming their son Theo, the celebration had to wait — but the dream never changed.

Yesterday, it finally happened at Amanfayun, Hangzhou — an Aman sanctuary hidden in a restored village, surrounded by tea fields and woodland, beside the temples of Lingyin. Quiet, cinematic, and timeless in the way only certain places are.

One detail that stayed with me: Laura wore a traditional Chinese red outfit that once belonged to her mother — a true vintage piece, the kind you rarely see nowadays. Seeing her in it felt like opening a family archive. Honestly… it’s what I imagine a Chinese wedding might have looked like if I could travel back in time and photograph one back then.

They visited Amanfayun three times (all the way from London) because they knew this was their place — a setting that makes everything slow down, soften, and feel intentional.
