Today: the people who got him here.
Both - equally significant.

Senior year isn't only about the graduate. It's equally about the family that have been there throughout his journey so far — and are going through their own version of this transition too.

Of fathers and sons, and the little moments they’ll remember forever. 🤍

Five years ago, I photographed this beautiful, simple Sunday by the water — a father, his boys, and their little adventure.

The best family photographs aren’t always the ones where everyone is looking at the camera.

Sometimes they’re the ones that capture muddy feet, salty air, tiny explorers and the way a father looks at his child.

Years later, these are the moments that become priceless.

Most people don’t begin a portrait feeling completely at ease.

There is often a little hesitation, a moment of wondering what to do with your hands, where to look, how to stand.

And then, slowly, something shifts. The conversation flows, the laughter comes naturally, shoulders relax… and the real person appears.

At first glance, Sam’s calm and gentle nature shines through. 🌿

But behind this animal lover’s quiet exterior was a strong leader — the captain of Singapore AFL. 🏉

To balance his sporty side, he interned with the S.E.A. Aquarium Education Department, bringing more light to the cause of saving the oceans. 🌊✨

We even did his entire portrait shoot in the rain(coz singapore??) — and not once did he complain. That only left me further impressed with this inspiring young man. 🙌

A true powerhouse of determination, grit, and excellence! 💪🌟

On and off the court, she led with energy and inspired those around her — even as she navigated the challenge of changing schools halfway through high school years.

Zach’s high school years were a masterclass in balance. Between academics, the rhythm of the jazz band 🎶, and the discipline of the swim lanes 🏊‍♂️, he managed to make the best of his high school experience.

A doting older brother and now a proud UVA student studying Economics and Politics, Zach also chose to capture his senior portraits in the school spaces that mattered most to him — a fitting tribute to the place where so many of his memories were made. 🎓

Some journeys begin with courage. Turner chose the harder path — one that follows in his father’s footsteps and calls him to serve. He has joined the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps, embracing a life of discipline, leadership, and giving back at a young age.

As a military kid myself, I know firsthand that children who grow up in this life are inherently resilient and adaptable. Turner, who changed 3 countries in his high school years, embodies that spirit — stepping into service with strength, humility, and purpose.

Here's to a great future, Turner. You remind us that true strength lies in choosing to serve something bigger than ourselves.✨
