¡Llegó la primavera! 🌱 Spring has arrived!

Throughout the most strange and challenging year; from our fear, confinement, loses, uncertainty, and also from rethinking our approach to life and work and a personal reinvention; Photography was with us as a tool and relief valve; as pen an paper to tell our story and the stories we witnessed; as a therapy and need; as work and passion; as an intimate introspection and connection with others; as whisper and scream; as accepting and surrendering.
Going back to see each image is revisiting the captured moment and the emotions within; it’s worth to make a balance and realise that if we’re able to farewell this long year, it’s because we made it through, and for now, that’s enough. Thank you for your shared work, for exchanging images, ideas and messages; I’m grateful for new friendships made this year and for friendships that keep growing. Let’s keep focused in hope and stay connected among us, because we’re going to need it. Happy 2021!

A lo largo del año más extraño y retador; desde el miedo, el confinamiento, las pérdidas, la incertidumbre y también desde los replanteamientos de vida, trabajo y reinvención personal; la Fotografía nos acompañó como herramienta y desahogo, como pluma y papel para contar nuestra historia y otras historias de las que fuimos testigos; como terapia y necesidad, como trabajo y pasión, como introspección íntima y conexión con otros; como susurro y como grito; como aceptación y entrega.
Regresar y mirar cada imagen es repasar el momento capturado y revisitar la emoción de entonces; vale la pena hacer un balance y darnos cuenta de que si estamos despidiendo este largo año, es porque lo sacamos adelante, y por ahora eso es suficiente. Gracias a cada uno por su trabajo compartido, por el intercambio de imágenes e ideas; gracias por las nuevas amistades y por las que siguen presentes un año más. Mantengamos la esperanza y sigamos conectados unos a otros, que nos vamos a necesitar. ¡Feliz 2021!

Good morning everyone, as our first RooT Exhibition draws to a close, we wanted to take a minute and thank everyone who has supported us in this journey. From the photojournalists on the ground to the North Vancouver City Library, to The Polygon Gallery, to the many members of the Vancouver community who came to our tours and Photojournalist talk, we couldn't have done this without you.
