82 & 92 years young. ✨
This session meant more to me than I can put into words.
These two best friends came to Roatán to celebrate their 82nd and 92nd birthdays, and their daughters decided that a flying dress experience was the perfect way to celebrate them.
And they were absolutely right. ❤️
I photographed these beautiful women at Mayan Princess and San Simon, with colorful dresses flying behind them, the Caribbean as their backdrop, and the biggest smiles on their faces.
But looking through these photographs, I don’t just see a photoshoot.
I see 92 years of a life lived.
I see 82 years of stories, memories, love, loss, laughter and adventure.
I see friendship.
I see women who are still traveling, still celebrating birthdays somewhere beautiful, still dressing up, still laughing, and still saying YES to doing something fun simply because they can.
There is something incredibly powerful about that.
We spend so much of our lives worrying about getting older, when growing older is actually the privilege.
These women reminded me that there is no age limit on adventure.
No age limit on feeling beautiful.
No age limit on trying something new.
And absolutely no age limit on living your best damn life.
One of these incredible women even served in the U.S. Army in the 1950s, which made this session especially meaningful to me as a fellow veteran. 🇺🇸
To their daughters: thank you for giving them this experience and trusting me to preserve it.
And to these two beautiful ladies……thank you for reminding all of us how it’s done.
