Viki Martinić Photography "Equipment is nothing but a tool. It doesn’t make pictures on it’s own." In 2015 I have started living in the capital city of Croatia, Zagreb.

Hi, my name is Viki Martinić, I come from a small sunny place on the Adriatic coast called Bol, situated in Croatia on the south part of island that goes by the name of Brač. My whole life I have been drawn to all kinds of arts: movies, music, photography, arhitecture and so on... In primary school my drawing was pretty good and I enjoyed it. In high school the history of art was my favorite class

. But my love for photography was not born and defined untill the year of 2008. Since then I have shot landscapes, events, portraits, conceptual photography, fashion show, concerts, architecture, interiors, weddings, nature and the streets. My learning started with small zoom camera, grown with dslr camera and evolved with film and mirrorless cameras. Photography has helped me to rediscover the world, I am living in. To see the moments that surround us every day, to comprehend their beauty and bitterness, to evolve as a person and as a photographer with every new photo. These days you can find me shooting mostly on the streets. I am still shooting all that I have been shooting before, but I am drawn to the streets, like a fly to the candle. Street is the place where magic can happen. It is fast, it is hard to predict, it is risky, and there is plenty of mistakes and only few successful images. Those few images are the reason why I go on the street. In my street photos I try to capture moments that have atmosphere, story, emotion and meaning. That experience and style is slowly taking shape in all of my photography. You could say I have specialised in street photography, wedding, portraits or conceptual, but all I am trying is to tell you a story through my work.
