About My Photo Exhibition in Budapest,Hungary / Refugee crisis/ 2015

Yearnings

An exhibition where the viewer will engage in a closer look of what it means to leave your home pursuing asylum in a new space that often doesn’t welcome you. An invitation to reflect about concepts that make intrinsic part of the human being: What is foreign? What does home mean? Where do I belong?

Sara is an Iranian self-taught photographer who since 2012 lives in Budapest. Her interest to reflect the human condition in her pictures is a constant in all of her artworks. Back in her homeland she captured the vast diversity of ethnicities and realities of Iran in several reportages. In this occasion she wants to expose a contemporary concern of the world and specifically of Europe: the refugee flow caused by the instability in the Middle-East.
The several pictures explore the impact of leaving behind your home into new surroundings without any guarantee or certitude. The focus resides in capturing the fragile hopes of the children. Children that dream of a better future. Children that could have been us.
