💦 Yet, most of the time, the creative process is neither simple nor linear.
There is often a back-and-forth between the hand and the mind...
Sometimes inspiration evolves as creation progresses, and new ideas emerge in response to the form...

For this particular project, I hadn't done any specific research. My model and I just wanted to improvise, after setting an initial mood.
But when I started sorting through the images, I immediately saw Venuses, Icaruses, and sails caught in the storm.
Inspiration hit me like a bolt of lightning, fueled by my artistic and cultural background. And then, the final form of this series became obvious to me.

🌫 I have long been fascinated by old master paintings depicting storms and shipwrecks.

I love their strength and delicacy.
They remind us of the fragility of our lives and how tiny we are in the face of elements' power (we, humans, believing ourselves to be above everything).

I don't exactly know why, but after this particular underwater photoshoot, when I started sorting through the images, I immediately noticed something different from the usual underwater scenes.

I started seeing sails in the wind,
memories of shipwrecks,
ghost ships caught in the storm...

The emotion I felt reminded me of the masterpieces I love so much, so I decided to bring this vision to life by blurring the boundaries between photography and painting...

✨️ This artwork didn't go as planned... and that's for the best !

Originally, my idea was to create pictures bordering on abstraction. A kind of magnificent chaos where bodies and fabrics intertwine.

Yet after the shoot, when I began reviewing the images, they started telling me stories...

I saw Icaruses, Venuses, Ophelias...
I saw sails in the wind, memories of shipwrecks, ghost ships caught in the storm.
I saw a combination of force and delicacy that reminded me of the master paintings I love so much.

So I decided to put my initial idea aside, give shape to this new vision, and blur the boundaries between photography and painting...

💡✨️ I've often been told :
"Oh, you're so creative ! Where do you get all these ideas?"

Actually, ideas don't come out of thin air.

Creativity isn't a gift.
It isn't something innate that you either have or don't have. It is something that is built up over time.

Behind every idea, every creation, there are years of curiosity and careful observation.

To the world around.
To the world inside.

I think creativity and inspiration come mainly from paying attention to things and paying attention to how they resonate within us.
