Crossroad Junior

Crossroad Junior Savor life, largely. Like it or not, we took many things for granted. Including the passing moments in our lives. We are based in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Crossroad Photography is here to help you remember those which are impossible to reproduce. To bring back memories of the words spoken amidst joyful tears,
of the firsts of everything that are now casual,
of the feelings that once were had,
of many other things. But to say it all in one line is to bring back the memories of how we savor life, largely. Contact us at [email protected] o

"In all of living, have much fun and laughter. Life is to be enjoyed."

Just like the old saying, it was true indeed that the more we praised and celebrated life, the more there was in life to celebrate.

Maximus Huang Tirtawigoena first birthday was celebrated at Pand'Or, somewhere on Brawijaya Street, Jakarta. One celebration that would soon be followed by many others. And amidst wishes from families and friends, beautiful decorations of kites and bears and framed photographs, little Max put on a brave face as he faced the days ahead unknown to him.

Ambience was great that day. Everyone was having fun. And that's the important thing. So let us present to you the pictures from that day. Albeit a little late. Please leave a comment and help us share these around.

"A year passed, another one on the way
Taking in experience as the wise say
So that when something happens some day
Little you can face it, come what may."

"Honest, I still read fairy tales and I like them best of all" - Audrey Hepburn

Having a child was one of the sure ways to keep in touch with our own childhood stories. While the world and its cultures evolved, some values stayed the same. And more often than not, those were the values that defined what kind of person we turned out to be.

Kelly Maxine Wiliem didn't face the big bad wolf like the original Little Red. But still the messages of keeping your promises and listening to your parents were, of course, among the wishes her parents had for her. And it all showed in her Little Red Riding Hood themed birthday party some time ago.

So happy 1st birthday Kelly. Enjoy the photographs, leave us some comments, and help us share the pictures to others if it’s not too much trouble.

The tale I've told you, that tale's a lie
But listen to me bright maiden, proud youth
The tale is a lie, what it tells is the truth"

One could argue that for the best things in life, you smell them before you see them. At least this one held true for apple pie, petrichor, and waking up at your own home, knowing well that you're where you belong.

And where we belonged the most was in our family.

A while back, we had a good chance to photograph a friend and her three children. They were everything a family should be. A father with a dream of a better tomorrow, a mother supportive to the husband and doting to the children, and children growing up healthy physically and spiritually.

While the father was absent on the day of the session, it still turned out very well. Enjoy these family photographs and have a nice day. Comments are, of course, welcome.

"Children play the grow-up notes while parents play the grow-old chords. While those are unavoidable, the harmonies that resulted echo even in our after lives." Love your family.

We had a memorable experience photographing Jonathan Aiden Wu, or Jon, several months back. In actuality, we also had the chance to follow the family back to their house and had another photo session.

And it turned out to be a blast. The 5-year-old still had so much energy inside him even after all the fun at the birthday party earlier. We throw ideas at him and he swallowed them with curiosity, passion, and seemingly unlimited energy. And at that moment we saw a bigger-than-life kind of man in the making.

So, please enjoy Jon's second set of photographs and be infected with his passion. Leave us some comments if you will.

Come to think of it, once upon a time, most of us did see ourselves as heroes. Some of us grew up to reality thus forgetting this, But some held dear the dream and still believed that today we're still heroes.

Little Jonathan Aiden Wu celebrated his fifth birthday not so long ago. And in a flash, years would pass and he'd walk among adults and think as adults and work in the world of adults. It would be nice that when that day came, he'd look back to the day he turned 5 and remembered that he chose to be a hero that day and knew that he had a heart of a hero since the beginning.

The party's theme was Transformer and it was held at Jon's school. It was kinda' short but very meaningful for all the invitees. It was a happy day all in all. We were happy to be a part of it.

Enjoy the photographs, leave us some comments, and help us share the pictures to others if it's not too much trouble.

As we watched this little princess being prepared for her first big day, our minds wandered.

This was the day she probably won’t remember much about. But years later, after she’s seen many and read many and learned many travelled many, when she finally went to her mother and asked for her baby pictures, and when Mom handed out the album from the dusty box, she’d find out about one thing true from the day she was born.

She was loved. Deeply.

In a world where many children spent more time with nannies and ipads than with their parents, Faith Wynn Kwa was blessed with caring father and mother. It was their own hands that put on her shoes and hair accessories that day. But even more than that, it was the father who came earlier than us and decorated the restaurant room with pink balloons and pink banners and pink little cards with the guests’ names and pink little paper flowers etc. And it was the mother who planned all the little details of the party from the stiches and embroideries of her gown to the specially shaped icing of the cake.

And so the party went terrific. Family members from 4 (or 5) generations gathered. Some even came all the way from other cities. And the little star shined all the way to the end, enjoying the all pink party. Perfectly dressed, she looked wonderfully great that day, inside the booked room as well as outside where she had a little balloon galore. Great place, great people, great food, great party. And great photographs as well. Enjoy.

We suddenly sensed danger when one of our clients called us and rescheduled the photo session due to "insufficient manpower to handle the related parties." Of course, we're only joking here. But apparently Mom were not.

Charice Lim, several days past 15 months at that time, was the very definition of Energizer Bunny brought to life. Behind the ultra sweet face and the small figure, she had more energy than all our team combined. And that included 2 photographers weighing a total of 225 Kgs (yeah, we're a big team, literally), 1 videographer, and 1 creative director.

With 6 sets of wardrobe, for almost 5 straight hours, at 4 different locations, using 3 cars, the session resulted in 2 very tired big guys and 1 very memorable day with Charice. Who were still eating when we left the venue and were looking forward to seeing some cartoon on the TV (while we're struggling just to keep our eyes opened wide enough to drive home).

But it was a good session all in all. We're exaggerating a bit (okay, quite a lot actually) about our exhaustion. But everyone was having fun that day and that's all that mattered.

"A little girl can be sweeter than anyone else in the world. She can jitter around, and stomp, and make funny noises that frazzle your nerves, yet just when you open your mouth she stands there demure with that special look in her eyes. A girl is Innocence playing in the mud, Beauty standing on its head, and Motherhood dragging a doll by the foot." - Alan Marshall Beck
