Sofia Marie is a wedding, lifestyle, and creative portrait photographer based in Surrey, BC. She started her photographic journey as a teenager when she picked up her first camera, a 1980's manual SLR. Since then she has continued to photograph a large variety of events, moments, and people, specifically gearing herself towards the wonderful world of wedding, engagement, and bridal photography.

It's been a while since I've dabbled with self portraiture, so I thought I'd get reacquainted with my timer and remote (2nd slide) for a little re-introduction.

I'm Fia of Sofia Marie Photography! I fell in love with photography as a kid when my dad traded a couple hockey tickets for a 1981 Minolta X700 so I could learn to shoot on film. It's a fantastic little camera that I still love and use today.

I'm most passionate about capturing expressive moments. I've been shooting weddings and creative portraits for years, and have recently entered the world of low light concert photography (which is gloriously expressive!!).

A few more fun facts about the gal behind the lens.

• I am the artist manager for my husband CocoLarosa
• I work as an IATSE costumer in the film industry
• I have an embroidery business that contracts out to film and TV The Bitch Can Stitch
• I have a very handsome Norwegian forest cat mutt named Chairman
