This is one of those rare occasions where I get the chance to post some photos of myself.
Photographs taken by the team during our last training trip in Amed with .
Especially looking at last picture, the one I am underwater it make me think that I do not even realize anymore how much weight I bringing down there.
Maybe I should go for simple dive without camera and remember those old days when I was just swimming looking for fish. The problem is that if I am going to do that something amazing will happen in front of my eyes and I will regret not to have the camera with me 😆.
It is the beginning of the year. Time to regroup and prepare for 2022 projects. Cant wait to be at sea again 🌊 💙

The beautiful women of Maumere, Flores.

Up in the mountain chain of the island of Flores in the village of Watulapi the production of colorful textile and the art of weaving has been carried on for many generations.
The Sikka people are notorious for producing some of the highest quality IKAT ( textile ) in Indonesia.

Beside the chance to look at the women working on the Ikat, when you go and pay a visit in Watulapi you can embrace their beautiful traditions and take part in their rituals, ceremonies and dances. After meeting the Sikka people and witness in first hand their genuine cordiality, You will leave this area with a great feeling in you heart.

Warrior Girl - Papua - Indonesia

This is the last portrait from the series of portraits that I have taken in Kwatisore village in Cendrawasih Bay, Papua.

This girl has got such beautiful eyes and smile and I think this photograph can show that very well.

I feel very blessed that I was able to meet the welcoming people of Kwatisore and I really look forward to go back there on my next trip in the region.

Kid Warrior | Papua | Indonesia 🇮🇩

For a moment, while he was posing for me, his friend called me and I could capture this beautiful moment.

I am very happy to have dedicated a bit of time to photography on my past trip. In the recent years I have been mostly filming and getting back to my still camera was very refreshing.
I want to dedicate more time to stills and do more sessions line this one as I really enjoyed it.

There are so many beautiful places with great history and cultures. The people are friendly and welcoming taking a bit more time with them it is a very enriching experience .

🏝 ☀️ This is the island of Koon, one of my favorite islands in the whole of Indonesia. 🇮🇩

It is quite hard to reach and quite far away from any big airport.
To visit the island most probably you need to be on a liveaboard cruise in the Banda islands.

The island itself is perfect and today, its land and the reef are protected by the local government.

The reef wall sinks very deep and the coral reef on top is pristine and beautiful. The fish life is abundant and it is possible to see hammerhead sharks and other species of sharks.

If you have been diving in Indonesia on a liveaboard, but never visited Koon, it is highly recommended to find an itinerary that stop for a day by this island.
Personally I like the Ambon to Raja Ampat itinerary that stops by Koon for a day.
