The annual Tea Party was held recently in the Community Centre Mountcollins with the proceeds going towards the upkeep of the centre.

Also a 41 Card Game was also held in Mountcollins Community Centre in aid of Daffodil Nursing Services (Irish Cancer Society). The event was organised by Mountcollins Community Centre Committee.

A wonderful celebration of the work undertaken by the boys of St. Mary's Boys' School relating to the Blue Star Programme was held recently at the school. Seán Kelly MEP was welcomed by the junior pupils with the "European Handshake" which celebrates EU diversity, inclusivity and integration. The senior boys then presented various projects which they had completed on EU countries along with some tasty food associated with these countries which they had been busy preparing prior to the visit. Seán outlined his role as an MEP for the boys as well as explaining to them how the different mechanisms of EU governance operate. A lively question and answer session followed before a well deserved cupán tae for Seán in the staffroom. A most enjoyable day was had by all and we extend a "míle buíochas" to Seán for making time for St. Mary's in his busy schedule.

A Pub Quiz was held recently in the Cellar Bar & The Ploughman Bar held a Karaoke Night to raise funds for the installation of a full-size artificial pitch for Abbeyfeale United . These events were organised by the producers of the movie “The Field” and “The Van”. All movies will be shown next Saturday night 18th April at the Abbeyfeale United FC Movie Awards Night which will be held in the Devon Inn Hotel.

Abbeyfeale Coursing Club recently held an awards night in Leens Hotel to honour the owners and trainers of greyhounds that contested finals at their recent Christmas meeting and went on to even greater glory in Clonmel when winning the Derby, Oaks and Champion stakes. Club chairman Jack Foley presented a special merit award to Jerry Murphy for his dedication and commitment to Abbeyfeale Coursing Club .
