From an early age, Claudia was exposed to many different facets of what it means to be creative, from music to gardening. Her art training started in High School, where she attended the J.P. Olivier Art School for five years, where she studied drawing, etching, painting, textile design and screen printing. During these years, she participated in an art competition, hosted in Taipei, Taiwan and won
a Bronze medal, as well as participated in a Botanical exhibition, with South African Botanical Artist, Marieta Visagie. In the years to follow, she feverishly pursued her passion for animals in the form of Pet Portraits. In 2020, Claudia completed her Art, Craft and Design Portfolio course, with distinction, at the WCFE in Waterford. Her artistic expression has evolved from Fine Art, to a diversity of many different forms of art, for example Found Object Art and Mixed Media Art. Most recently, her experience with Mural painting, whilst participating in the Waterford Walls Street Art Festival (Mentorship and Training Program 2021), has added another layer to that diversity. Claudia’s main objective, in her journey as an artist, is to try and capture and reflect all aspects of the Natural world, as this is the source of her greatest inspiration. Her ethos and value system, not only as an artist, but also in her private life, is in adopting an Environmentally friendly awareness and attitude, in which re-using, up-cycling and re-purposing, is of utmost importance. Creativity comes in many different forms and in experimenting with these different forms, it has allowed her to express herself, as an artist, in an essential and satisfactory way and not be bound by just one medium, one style or one technique. This has been, in her experience, the epicentre of providing the platform through which to grow as an individual, as well as grow as an artist. Art Resume
