Even if you have dark brown eyes, there's a hidden layer of blue in everyone's iris! 🌊 This blue layer is due to collagen, which scatters light much like the sky does to appear blue. The visible color of your eyes depends on the amount of melanin on top of this layer.

Why is this cool? 🤔 Because it shows that regardless of the eye color we see, we all share a common trait! This hidden blue is typically overshadowed by melanin, the same pigment that determines your skin color and protects you from UV rays.
