Yesterday, I had the privilege of photographing the Waurá people in the heart of the Xingu Indigenous Territory.
The Waurá have lived in this region for generations, preserving a remarkable culture, language and traditions deeply connected to the forest and the rivers that surround them.
For me, photographing indigenous communities is never simply about making a beautiful portrait. It is about connection, trust and respect . taking the time to see the person behind the image.
This portrait was captured yesterday during my journey through the Brazilian Amazon.
Flying home tomorrow and I can’t wait but I’m going to miss these incredible people. An amazing trip.
