Some shots, and a video clip at the end, from April, of a very wet but still beautiful Blacklion & Belcoo on the Cavan-Fermanagh county bounds. Actually, it's more than a county boundary - but let's not go there here! Blackcap singing in the rain in the video clip.

Ireland

Not just any Dandelion, but Coltsfoot (Tussilago farafara), an early spring flower of bare ground. There's lots of it on the soft glacial till cliffs at Shankill/Shanganagh Beach, Co. Dublin, Ireland. It belongs to the daisy family (Asteraceae). It was once used as a cough remedy, hence its scientific name from the Latin - Tussere - to cough. But it's now known to contain toxic alkaloids that may cause mutation and liver damage - so the chemist would be better!

The wildflower meadow in the Middle Field of Shanganagh Park tonight. Hopefully, local people can persuade .ie not to rip it out for a reduced sports facility. Instead, the Council should expand the Park to allow for biodiversity and a proper sports facility!
