I would say entirely hand made but if we're being pernickety, I do use my wood turning lathe to help with the edge slicking at the end. In any case, veg tanned leather works great for wallets because of how it ages with the oil from your hands, and the friction going in and out of your pocket as you buy several, one last drinks on a Friday evening.

This one is sold but I have a couple left, along with a couple of card holders that are thinner and don't have the note slot in the middle. Check my pinned posts and give me a shout if you're interested! ❤️🪡🧵

Another 2 tone stitch on this veg tan leather cardholder. This one with a teal grey and wine brown. The leather is dyed saddle tan.

Stitch by stitch, 42 each half of the wallet to be precise. Wax thread is used to reduce friction and fraying with leather I believe. Also helps lock things in place. 🪡🧵

I used 2 different shades of green thread on this one. Little bit of a different start compared to using a single thread, where normally your 2 needles are on the end of the same piece of thread and you start with the mid point of the thread in the first hole. Here, with one needle per thread, I start each colour in the second hole with the loose ends poking out, then go to the first, then back to the second and on from there creating a back stitch at the start. You do a back stitch or two at the end and clip and burn the ends to lock them in.

Hammering in the slanted stitching holes with the pricking irons on this veg tan leather card holder. I put a couple of pieces of leather glued together on a piece of wood and it allows the irons to poke through without getting stopped or damaging the bench.

The tricky part is hammering these in a straight line (obviously!) and perpendicular. A slight angle will have it exit the other side off line and I've made many a cardholder/ wallet with a wonky stitch as a result 😩. Luckily this one was straight enough though! 🤓
