Seminar: Michael will show a selection of images from his personal work, consisting of Fine Art Fantasy imagery, alongside some of his Editorial and Commercial work, and will relate some of the stories behind them. He will discuss some the inspiration and the creative process behind the images, from concept through styling, set up, lighting and final post processing. He will also talk about how the different genres of his photography influence each other. He will also have some of his stunning prints on his favourite PermaJet Papers for you to enjoy close up.

About Bio - Michael O'Sullivan is a creative professional photographer based in County Cork, Ireland, working in both Commercial and Fine Art arenas. Michael is the former Chairman and founder of Cork International Salon of Photography. He is a former president of the Irish Photographic Federation, and is a very experienced photographer having had his work published both nationally and internationally. He produces Landscape, fashion, commercial and portrait work, but is best known for his personal work, which may be described as "Conceptual Fantasy Art". Stylistically, his work references the painters of the Renaissance, Baroque and Romantic eras, as well as the great fantasy artists of the 20th century, but retains a unique signature. His permanent obsession is his "Fallen Angels" series, which is a vehicle for his view of the world, and Humanity's place in it. He is a Fellow of the Irish Photographic Federation, and a Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society. Michael has been a member of the Adjudication panels for photographic distinctions with the Irish Photographic Federation and for The Royal Photographic Society.

He is an experienced photography teacher; a popular lecturer and speaker in Ireland and the UK. He leads workshops for photographers at all levels, including master-classes for advanced photographers and professionals. His workshops, on composition, shooting, lighting, processing & printing for various photographic genres are consistently sold out far in advance.

Michael is also a Lecturer, Photography Trainer and Workshop Leader for Canon Ireland, and is a proud professional Ambassador for PermaJet.

On this workshop Michael will lead you through the complete print workflow; from assessing and preparing your images to outputting a perfect print. He will cover a range of topics such as:
Why you should print:
Before the print – shooting and editing for print for all images, but also thinking in monochrome
Consistent workflow and understanding colour management
Calibrating your system
How to avoid major pitfalls and common printing mistakes, with particular focus on monochrome
The practical and creative variables to consider when making paper choice.

We will have esteemed fashion photographer Michael O'Sullivan instore undertaking a 𝐃𝐫𝐨𝐩-𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐭 𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐜. Michael will be on hand showcasing the latest in Canon cameras and lenses highlighting their portaiture capabilities.
