The Man Who Stopped for a Moment
Every city has people we pass almost every day.
We don't know their names. We don't know their stories. Yet somehow, they quietly become part of our own lives.
I often see this elderly gentleman in my neighbourhood. Sometimes, he simply stands for a moment, leaning on his walking stick, watching the world continue without him. Years ago, I often saw him walking with a small dog. Today, he is usually alone.
When I noticed him standing beside this old yellow car, I instinctively reached for my camera. Perhaps he was only resting. Perhaps he was simply enjoying the evening. Or perhaps that car reminded him of another time. I don't know.
That is the beauty of photography.
A single photograph can ask questions without ever pretending to know the answers.
His house, like many older homes, carries the marks of time. To some, it may seem worn. To him, it may simply be home—a place filled with memories no one else can see.
This photograph is not really about a man or a car.
It is about time.
About growing older.
About the quiet dignity of ordinary people whose stories deserve to be remembered, even if we never hear them.
Sometimes, the most powerful photographs are not those that explain everything, but those that invite us to imagine.

Vanished Harmony

Some places exist only for a brief moment in time. This photograph captures one of those moments.

Taken in Dublin around 2009, Vanished Harmony preserves a street scene that no longer exists. The striking combination of a colourful delivery van and a beautiful mural created an unexpected harmony, turning an ordinary city street into a work of art.

Those were different days. Dublin's underground culture was thriving. Independent artists, musicians, photographers and dreamers filled the streets with creativity. Graffiti was more than paint on a wall—it was a voice. Every corner seemed to have its own story, its own colours and its own soul.

I had only recently arrived in Ireland as a young immigrant, discovering a new country through my camera. I spent countless evenings walking the city, visiting pubs, music venues, galleries and hidden streets, photographing anything that felt alive. Looking back today, many of those places have disappeared, and the artwork captured here is long gone.

This image is more than a photograph. It is a memory of a Dublin that existed for only a short chapter in its history—a city full of colour, freedom and creative energy.

Vanished Harmony invites us to remember that beauty is often temporary, but photography allows those fleeting moments to live forever.
