"My late father Patrick O'Grady when he was 3 or 4 years old on his first trip up to Dublin from Ballingarry, Co. Limerick. In the picture are his mum Molly O (Mary) holding onto him and friend of the family Hannah-May Sharman ( nee O'Keefe). He was so excited being up in Dublin that he wouldn't stop talking! (John O'Grady, Templeogue)"

The Man on Bridge project has been collecting the photos of Arthur Fields and sharing them for over 6 years. We have collected over 7000 photographs to create a unique portrait of Dublin using the photos and stories of people themselves. Along the way, we’ve also created a documentary, an exhibition and two books.

We managed to draw on different funding sources during the early years of the project however for the past two years, we have been funding the overheads of the archive, the website and the social media pages entirely ourselves (EZ Films). In order to help us continue the work of this project we are asking you to become a Patreon supporter and contribute to the continued upkeep of the project.

We plan to keep the Man on Bridge project open and free to all and any donations are purely voluntary. If you are in a position to support the project then please do so and if you are not then that is fine. We hope you will still continue to explore the photos of Arthur Fields and help us by sharing the project with others.
