Great to see Sienna Wright from Howth Yacht Club in action at the ILCA U21 World Championships in Lanzarote where she earned a creditable 8th overall. And happy to get some practice time in with my new Canon cameras with simultaneous video and photo capability plus high-frame rate slow motion. Looking forward to a busy 2026!

Beautiful sunshine and a decent if cool breeze for the opening day of the SAR Princess Sofia Trophy regatta for Olympic classes on the Bay of Palma today with Irish Sailing Performance and sailors from Howth Yacht Club and other Irish Sailing clubs.

The SSE Renewables Round Ireland Yacht Race was due to have started this weekend but has been postponed by two months due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Just as well perhaps as Gale force winds are lashing the Irish coast tonight. Here's a lookback at the 2018 event and a video I produced featuring the overall winner.
