Shot this chaotic beauty in Bunowen a few weeks ago. Working to prepare for my first-ever exhibition! It will explore peat bog degradation, country life, and bog conservation- to be presented this October.

Wisps of bog cotton can be found between the bell heather and grasses 🌾 In the past, this cotton has been used as a feather substitute and occasionally was blended with wool to make some fabrics.

Croagh Patrick from a new angle 🌬 ⛰ For any who may be unfamiliar with this mountain: it is believed that St. Patrick walked to the summit of this holy mountain in the 5th century AD. Since that time, countless people have completed the pilgrimage trail up the mountain. Despite being rocky, slippery, and generally treacherous in many places, the pilgrimage has traditionally been completed barefoot- a practice continued by some to this day.

📍 Little Skellig, co. Kerry-
Standing just next to the famous Skellig Michael, little Skellig is home to one of the largest colonies of gannets in the world. This protected area is believed to hold about 30,000 pairs (estimates vary) which will mate for life. 🐦

I have wanted to visit the Skellig islands for years and finally got an opportunity to, it was every bit as beautiful as I thought it would be :’)

Sweet dreams 😴 🌙

Working on getting used to my new camera and venturing into Astro photography (so would love your feedback!). 💫 There’s two great dark sky parks near my town and I finally got to visit one of them this weekend. Not a bad camping spot, huh? 📸 🏕

I’ve always been drawn to creating images that juxtapose the “Near” and “Far”. It’s a theme I’ve written extensively about over the past few years, and I hold such an appreciation for perspectives like this one. The contrast between the looming cliffs and the small but lush blanket of life in the foreground aims to preserve the beauty of both scenes: the larger overall view as well as a reminder of the smaller details that make a landscape beautiful in the first place. So often, we place far too much of our focus on the big aspects of life that we forget to appreciate the little patches of eden that may be lying in front of us.

View from the peaks above Keem Beach, Achill Island.

It was my first time visiting this incredible spot and it certainly won’t be my last. Learned that this bay is a hot spot for basking sharks, dolphins, and tons of other sea creatures so will definitely be bringing snorkeling gear next time 🤿 🐙
