We got home from yesterday’s wedding and woke the boys so we could do this together before my midnight deadline 😆.
They’ve been such a huge part of this journey, so it only felt right that they were part of this moment too.
Submitted, surrounded by sleepy heads, love, and the people who carried me through it.

This is a longer one than my usual posts 🤍

I recorded this today because I realised my wedding photography, my thesis research, and the retreats I’m creating are all connected in ways I hadn’t fully understood before.

At the core of all of it is witnessing, connection, presence, storytelling, and creating spaces where people feel seen.

It’s reflective, honest, a little unfiltered (and yes… no makeup 🤣), but hopefully it offers some insight into my process and the heart behind the work.

A little reintroduction feels overdue 🤍

I’m Tara, photographer, artist, mother, observer of light, and someone deeply drawn to the stories that exist beneath the surface.

For me, photography has never just been about how something looked.

It’s about how it felt to be there.
The quiet glances.
The nervous laughter.
The wind moving through someone’s hair.
The moments that almost go unnoticed.

After many years documenting weddings and people’s lives, I still feel incredibly grateful that this work continues to place me inside such meaningful moments.

For years, photography has allowed me to witness people in some of the most meaningful moments of their lives.

Again and again, I noticed the same thing…

The most powerful moments happen when people feel safe enough to truly be themselves.

That understanding slowly began shaping work beyond weddings and portraits too.

So this October, I’ll be hosting the very first Anam Tí retreat in Spain 🤍

A small soulful retreat centred around rest, creativity, reflection and connection.

This feels like a very natural extension of everything I’ve loved about this work all along, creating spaces where people feel seen, supported and able to breathe a little deeper.

I’ve been quieter on here lately, not because life has slowed down, but because it’s been beautifully full. 💝

Weddings, editing, travel plans, workshops, family moments, creating, researching, dreaming up new things quietly behind the scenes…

Somewhere in the middle of all of it, I still find myself pulling the car over to capture wildflowers blowing in the wind.

I think that means I’m still paying attention to all the beauty around us.

As a mother myself, I realise that childhood moves quietly and quickly.
One day they’re reaching for your hand…
and the next they’re leading someone else through the wildflowers. 🤍

Communion season is never really just about the dress or the day itself.

It’s about the people beside them, the memories being made, and the small moments we don’t realise we’ll miss someday. 💖
