Teenage boys!

This young lad clearly thought he knew better than Mam and decided it was his moment to prove himself.

The pride set up an ambush on an unsuspecting warthog… then he broke cover far too soon.

Hunt over!

“Is the Sony 400mm GM f/2.8 really worth it?”

I get asked this a lot.

Then I look at photographs like this one.

A cheetah, casually owning the road - and this is exactly why I love this lens

That combination of 400mm + f/2.8 gives me something I’m always looking for in wildlife photography - beautiful compression, incredible subject separation and that dreamy background blur.

And that’s the bit I love.

It’s not just about getting closer.

It’s about isolating the subject and making the photograph feel clean, simple and intentional.

The cheetah becomes the photograph.

The gear doesn’t matter - until it does.

“🦊 Right … so apparently there was supposed to be a full moon. And possibly a lunar eclipse.

I’ve been sitting here waiting. Nothing. Not a thing. Just humans getting themselves excited about something that I can’t see anywhere.

Honestly … ye are a strange bunch.

I’ll just sit here and stare at you instead.

At least you’re actually here”

What a little flirt! 💙

This gorgeous juvenile female kingfisher kept me very entertained - flying back and forth, trying out different perches, diving for fish and chasing her sibling.

And every now and then… striking a pose with that fabulous little tail in the air!

Battle scars and the unmistakable signs of a life spent fighting to survive. Yet beneath it all, he still looks strong and healthy.

But life as a male lion is never easy. The ongoing struggle of holding his territory, protecting the pride and defending what is his from the constant threat of rivals.

Every scar has a story. Every day is another battle. He is still very much the king

A quiet moment with sleepy Mr Fox, undisturbed and at peace. Nature always reminds us to slow down.

A staff meeting!

Three little Gyrfalcon chicks. Three bundles of feathers, curiosity and attitude.

A group of gyrfalcons is traditionally called a cast. Because they are raptors, a group of these birds can also be referred to as a bazaar or a screw

Just a juvenile kingfisher learning its craft.

Plenty of dives that morning - not all successful !
