The newborn stage lasts only a few weeks.

Those curled-up poses.
The tiny fingers.
The sleepy stretches.

Before long they're smiling, rolling, crawling and keeping you on your toes.

If you're expecting a baby and would love newborn portraits, don't wait until baby arrives to get in touch. My diary often fills several months in advance.

That said, if your little one is already here and you've just realised you forgot to book, give me a call. I can't promise, but I'll always do my best to squeeze you in.

Before the baby arrived, they were the baby.

The first to be greeted in the morning.
The one who followed you everywhere.
The one who got all the attention.

Then a tiny human arrives and suddenly the family grows.

I love when families include their dogs in portraits because they are part of this story too. They've been there through the pregnancy, the preparations and now the arrival of the newest family member.

Swipe through to see some of the portraits we created together, including how one of the images was safely created. The dog and baby were photographed separately and carefully combined afterwards.

No photograph is ever more important than safety.

You spend months waiting to meet them.

Wondering who they'll look like.
Imagining what they'll be like.
Counting down the days.

Then suddenly they're here.

And before you've had a chance to catch your breath, they're already changing.

That's why these portraits matter.

Not for today.
For the years from now when this tiny chapter feels impossibly far away.

I spend most of my time behind the camera.

Every now and then, it’s important to step in front of it.

Not just for updated portraits, but because it reminds me exactly how my clients feel.

These images were captured by the very talented at Howth Castle.

One location.

A few dresses.

Endless possibilities.

One of the things I love most about creating portraits while travelling is discovering places that feel like several locations rolled into one.

Howth Castle has woodland paths, historic stonework, hidden corners and beautiful gardens, all within a short walk.

The perfect setting for an unforgettable portrait experience.

What you see in the final image is only part of the story.

Choosing outfits, hair and makeup, finding the best light, and plenty of laughter along the way.

This portrait experience took place at Howth Castle, just a short drive from Dublin and one of my favourite locations in Ireland.

Wait until you see the finished images.

A little behind-the-scenes from Hannah’s headshot session.

Professional hair and makeup, wardrobe advice, plenty of chats and laughs, and a few gentle nudges from me along the way.

The final portraits are important, but so is the experience along the way.

The newborn stage is a blur.

The days are long, the nights are longer, and somehow the weeks disappear faster than you ever imagined.

One day you'll look back and realise just how tiny they really were.

It's the little things you'll miss.

The tiny toes.
The button nose.
The way they curl up instinctively.

The details change so quickly, which is why they're worth remembering.

Every newborn session is different.

Some babies sleep the whole way through.
Some want to know exactly what's going on.

Either way, the goal is always the same: to capture this fleeting chapter before it becomes a memory.
