Living in a cottage that dates from around 1840 and having been involved in restoring some other vernacular buildings, I have a special interest in these old structures. Lately my focus shifted towards documenting derelict and abandoned traditional dry stone walled houses and the special beauty of their details.

What I just noticed going through my archives: Sometimes it is not only the aesthetic value that makes a picture special. Often the same photo documents past views in a rapidly changing world. Recently I passed Sneem and noticed the shop in my picture (taken 2014) completely changed with the loss of its traditional charm.
