Best Breakfast in Hunza | Hunza Food and People

Hunza Valley, nestled in Gilgit Baltistan, is a true gem! From its warm-hearted locals and lush flora to its breathtaking natural beauty, there's something truly special about this place. 💚🗻

Hunza residents are renowned for their longevity and vitality, and some say they're among the world's happiest people. 🌟 While I can't cite any specific studies, I believe their secret lies in their culture of kindness and hospitality. They treat every visitor like a cherished guest, going above and beyond to make you feel at home. 🤗

During our stay, a local family invited us over, and the experience was heartwarming. They insisted we savor fresh cherries from their courtyard tree and even helped us pick them! 🍒 Fruit trees are abundant in Hunza, with apricots being a standout. These apricots are dried and exported, and you can find delicious apricots and cherry jams, all lovingly made by locals. 🍑🍒

Our breakfast at Riwayat restaurant, near the Ganish bridge on the Karakoram Highway, was a delightful surprise. It may not have been a traditional Hunza breakfast, but Lahori nashta (breakfast) tasted divine, and that Cherry shake was heavenly! 🍒🥤

When you visit Gilgit Baltistan, make sure to indulge in their traditional dishes. I absolutely loved Mamtoo (Momos), those delectable dumplings filled with meat. Traditionally made with Yak meat, they also offer chicken or beef options, steamed to perfection and served with vinegar, chili sauce, and spices. 🥟

And don't miss out on the Yak Karahi – the meat is incredibly tender and juicy! 🍖 If you're an adventurous foodie like me, you're in for a treat. 😋

Our incredible hosts offered us fresh and juicy cherries from a tree in their courtyard, and even plucked them for us! But it wasn't just about the cherries; it was about the love and care with which they peeled each one for us, making us feel like cherished family.🍒✨

Baltit Fort | Karimabad Hunza | Eagles Nest ViewPoint

Baltit Fort is situated in the Hunza Valley, near the town of Karimabad, in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of northern Pakistan. Founded in the 8th century CE, it has been on the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative list since 2004.

The Mirs of Hunza, Gilgit Baltistan abandoned the fort in 1945 and moved to a new palace down the hill. The fort started to decay which caused concern that it might possibly fall into ruin. Following a survey by the Royal Geographical Society of London, a restoration program was initiated and supported by the Aga Khan Trust for Culture Historic Cities Support Programme. The program was completed in 1996 and the fort is now a museum run by the Baltit Heritage Trust.

You need to buy a ticket for rupees 600 to visit the Baltit Fort. From the bazaar of Karimabad, you have to go to Baltit Fort on foot, the car does not go beyond here.

On 29 September 1996, President Farooq Ahmad Khan Laghari, His Highness Prince Aga Khan, and ambassadors of various countries opened this fort as a museum.

After seeing the Baltit Fort, you must go to the viewpoint of Eagle's Nest, which is about a 15 to 20 minutes drive from the Baltit Fort. You can take a bird's eye view of the Hunza Valley from Eagle's Nest. Moreover, Rakaposhi, Ultar Peak, Golden Peak, Diran Peak, and the Lady Finger.

Eagle's Nest is one of the favorite places of foreigners.

The Most Beautiful Village of Gilgit Baltistan | Hopper Valley | Nagar Khas | Hopper Glacier.

Gilgit Baltistan is known for its hospitable people, beautiful and high landscapes, historical forts, natural orchid farms, amazing traditional food, rivers, and much more. We happened to visit Nagar and Hopper valleys and were mesmerized by the uncanny beauty of the place. Both of these valleys are located in the Nagar District. The capital of the district is Nagar Khas. Hopper Village is another beautiful village located a few kilometers away from Nagar Khas. There is a famous glacier at this place which is called as Hopper Glacier. It is called a moving glacier because it is said to be moving ever so slightly. Locals have confirmed the movement by various means such as by placing some object at a certain place and then observing the placement of the object after a few days.

Hopar Valley or Hopper Valley is a cluster of villages around a natural bowl at a bend of Baltoro Glacier. Opposite to Hopper the white Bualtar is joined by the Barpu Glacier. This is a base camp for treks into the high, glacier-draped peaks called the Hispar Muztagh. The whole population of this valley is Burushaski speakers.

The valley has a number of natural formations, including glaciers, lakes, and high mountains.

Our Visit to Karachi: Exploring the Beaches and Delighting in Biryani

Karachi, the city of lights, is known for its vibrant culture, delectable food, and beautiful beaches. Recently, I had the pleasure of visiting this city with my family. Our first stop was the Ideal restaurant, where a great breakfast energized us for the day ahead.

As we explored the city, we were given a dare to find a beach that was both inside Karachi and spotless. The first condition was not a problem, but the second condition posed a challenge. We knew that Sea View at Clifton was the nearest beach, but it did not fulfill the cleanliness condition.

After some research and asking around, we finally discovered Manora Beach. It was not only close to the city but also very clean. Manora is a peninsula but is often called an island for simplicity. We opted to go from Kemari to Manora by boat. The beach had canopies set up by the administration where visitors could relax and enjoy the whole day. It was the perfect spot for us to spend the day soaking up the sun and enjoying the ocean breeze.

One of the most important things to do while visiting Karachi is to try their famous Biryani. The dish is a perfect blend of spices, rice, and meat, leaving your taste buds craving more. We gave it the respect it deserved and enjoyed it to the fullest.

Apart from relaxing at the beach and enjoying the local cuisine, we also took part in some adventurous activities. We did horse and camel riding and bathed in the ocean. The highlight of our trip was renting a boat from Kemari to Manora. The journey was breathtaking, and we enjoyed every moment.

In conclusion, our visit to Karachi was a great experience. We explored the beaches, enjoyed the food, and took part in exciting activities. If you plan on visiting Karachi, make sure you check out Manora Beach and don't forget to try their famous Biryani. It's an experience you won't forget.

The Shah Jahan Mosque or Shah Jahan Masjid also known as the Jamia Masjid of Thatta, is a 17th-century building that serves as the central mosque for the city of Thatta, in the Pakistani province of Sindh. The mosque is considered to have the most elaborate display of tilework in South Asia and is also notable for its geometric brickwork - a decorative element that is unusual for Mughal-period mosques. It was built during the reign of Mughal emperor Shah Jahan, who bestowed it to the city as a token of gratitude. It is heavily influenced by Central Asian architecture - a reflection of Shah Jahan's campaigns near Samarkand shortly before the mosque was designed.

The mosque is located in the city of Thatta which is an old city. The mosque is just a few kilometers away from the famous graveyard of Makli.

if you come from Karachi towards Thatta then on the way first comes Bhanbur which is a significant historical city. I have already covered it in a video.
From this, if you come a little further towards Thatta, you will find the Makli cemetery, which has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

A little further from Makli graveyard comes Shahjahan Masjid, a historic mosque.
The architecture is similar to what you usually find in Mughal-era buildings.
There are spacious yards and verandas and lawns. And there are also fountains.
If you have seen Shalamar Garden Lahore, then you will feel a glimpse of this.
The building of the mosque is made of beautiful red bricks. Shahjahan had ordered its construction in 1644 and Nawab Abdul Baqa Amir Khan bin Nawab Abdul Qasim started its construction. By 1647 CE its construction was completed.

Among the highlights of the mosque is its excellent acoustic engineering.
The sound from the main prayer hall is heard from one corner to the other through the domes.

History tells that when Shah Jahan rebelled against his father Jahangir, he took refuge in Thatta. And being impressed by the hospitality of the people here, he built a mosque as an expression of gratitude.
