“I have been asked 100x about ‘how was the wedding’ and I’ve been saying, ‘well, it started in a muddy field of tri-cornered leeks.....’”

There’s no better way to begin the story of Lucy & Bryan’s wedding at Markree Castle.

Before the ceremony, before the lion dancers, before the red wedding outfits and before one of the most emotional first looks I’ve seen in a long time, we found ourselves carefully navigating our way through mud to reach a spectacular carpet of white tri-cornered leeks hidden away on the Markree Castle grounds.

And somehow, that perfectly summed up the day.

A wedding that happily did things its own way.

Lucy walked herself up the aisle. The flower girls handed flowers to guests instead of scattering petals. Portraits were done before the ceremony so they could spend the rest of the day with family and friends who had travelled from all over the world. Chinese traditions blended beautifully with an Irish castle setting, from Lucy’s striking red bouquet to the incredible lion dancers who surprised guests during the drinks reception before leading everyone into dinner.

There were emotional vows, tears from proud parents, spectacular florals, a first dance in the courtyard, and one of those wedding days that seemed to reveal something new around every corner of the castle.

Markree Castle was, as always, the perfect stage for it all.

I have the impossible task of trying to condense this day into 20 photographs. I suspect some Story images may have to follow.

Congratulations, Lucy & Bryan. What a day.

I have the impossible task of condensing this wedding into 20 images. This one might need a reel instead!

Conor & Alex’s wedding at Carton House was one of those days with non-stop highlights.

One thing I loved was how intentional they were about protecting the day’s experience. We got all of the portraits and family photographs done before the ceremony, which meant once things kicked off, they could just completely disappear into the party and spend time with the people they love most.

Loved the impromptu first dance before dinner had even started, and the brass band leading them into the ceremony. Absolute chaos in the very best way.

Forever grateful to for all the hard work, putting amazing occasions like this on a platter for me

Huge credit to the incredible team who brought this all together:

A beautiful Waterford Castle wedding with Georgie, Jake, and their daughter Ellie, who completely ignored the rulebook and made the day entirely their own.

They woke up together. Got ready together. Even got dressed together… in the bathroom. Jake wore white with pink suede Docs. They did their portraits before the ceremony because protecting the drinks reception mattered more than tradition. They cut the cake before the ceremony and were eating it an hour later.

Proof that a wedding day doesn’t have to follow expectations to feel meaningful. Sometimes the best days happen when people stop worrying about what they’re “supposed” to do and just lean fully into themselves.

Rose & Colm (and their 6-month-old Charlie) got married in The Holy Trinity Church, Adare. Apparently, there are more weddings in that church every year than all of Limerick combined!

Rose got ready in one of the gorgeous thatched cottages directly across the road from the church. It might be the shortest walk to a ceremony I’ve ever seen. You could literally throw a stone from the front door and hit the church.

They did a first-look in the cottage and spent about 15 minutes together before the ceremony. Rose and Colm then walked up the aisle together to their son, Charlie.

After the wedding, there was no receiving line, no hanging around after the ceremony. Straight back to Dromoland Castle to start the party. Well, a very quick five-minute portrait session in the Walled Garden first, followed by a quick drink in the bar with family and friends, followed by a few more family photographs at the top of the main staircase. Before we knew it, we were back into the drinks reception with hours to spare, exactly what they wanted, time to actually be at their own wedding.

At dinner call, every guest found a handwritten letter from Rose at their place setting. Over 120 letters were written individually. I have never seen so many tears at a wedding before dinner even started.

As the evening went on, attention slowly shifted to the Six Nations match between France and England. Phones with the match playing started appearing on tables around the dining room as Ireland were still in with a shout of the Championship. We all know how that ended, but the Triple Crown wasn’t a bad consolation prize.

The night finished with a serious dance routine, a packed dance floor and a brilliant party with Spring Break at the helm.

An all-round terrific day at Dromoland Castle.

Still not over this Mount Juliet wedding.
Five minute portraits, incredible food, emotional speeches and one of the best dance floors I’ve seen in a while. Proof that you don’t need to disappear for hours to get great photos.

Mount Juliet Manor House looking very well for its first wedding back.
Keira and Bryan kept everything simple. Ceremony in Kilkenny, fast family photos, pint in the pub, back for dinner and dancing. Sometimes the best timelines are the simplest ones.

A few more from the Murphys’ St Patrick’s weekend wedding.
Barefoot walks through Kilkenny, Murphy’s pints in Tynan’s, emotional speeches, a dress change, dancing with Black Tye and an after party in the 1757 Bar. One of those weddings where everything just worked.
