How can one possibly sum up a photography workshop, aimed at co-existence, between Palestinian and Israeli women?
I will do it with the medium we have been using for the last week. A tender moment, where a Palestinian woman, who became as a mother to us all, comforted our fearless leader who was bearing witness to years of her work, yet again paying off. Weeks like this week have been a life source for me. A group of 21 women with seemingly very little in common, and yet in fact, we are 2 sides of the same coin...
We all pushed ourselves, we imagined a world where this workshop was our norm... And for a moment, we were all transported to an alternate reality. A reality where we all sat together and laughed, talked about our children (and sometimes our grandchildren). We all want different for them. We want them to share the moments of beauty we all discovered, but we want it to be THEIR REALITY, not stolen moments from the world as we know it.
It's up to us! We can be the change we want to see in the world. Enough with the keyboard warriors. Come and put your money where your mouth is and see what beauty lies beyond the bubble of the reality you have created.
