Портрет — это не только про то, как человек выглядит. Это про то, что в нём есть в паузе между мыслями или наоборот в бесперебойном мышлении, в секунду после вопроса, в момент, когда он забыл, что на него смотрят. Потому что мы все немного состоим из историй, которые сами про себя зачастую не рассказываем. И когда мы с Полиной встретились, когда она пришла на съёмку — мягкая, задумчивая, очаровательная — я очень четко поняла: нам будет про что снимать.
Поэтому я и люблю и фотографировать про человека в его периоде жизни. В момент съемки мы сохраняем не только внешность, но и то, что он проживал, в каком он состоянии, как и о чем блестели его глаза.
А у Полины очень и очень красивые глаза!

A portrait is not only about how a person looks. It’s about what exists within them in the pause between thoughts — or, on the contrary, in a stream of uninterrupted thinking. In the second after a question is asked. In the moment when they forget they are being watched.
Because all of us are made up, at least in part, of stories that we often don’t tell about ourselves.
And when Polina and I met, when she came to the photoshoot — gentle, thoughtful, charming — I immediately understood: we would have something to photograph.
That’s why I love photographing people within a particular chapter of their lives. At the moment of the shoot, we preserve not only their appearance, but also what they were going through, the state they were in, and what made their eyes shine.
And Polina has very, very beautiful eyes!
